Business Relocation Assistance Program

In a shared effort with all Mississippi WIN Job Centers and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership is providing assistance to the businesses and individuals affected by Hurricane Katrina.  The MetroJackson Chamber will continue to ask its members with current employment opportunities to forward that information to the chamber office.  This information will be gathered and forwarded to the Mississippi Department of Employment Security for processing and job placement. 

Evacuees seeking employment opportunities may call the MetroJackson Chamber at 601-948-7575, access the Mississippi Department of Employment Security website at http://mdes.ms.gov/wps/portal/#null, or go to any WIN Job Center. A listing of all WIN Job Centers, with telephone numbers and addresses, is listed at http://www.wininmississippi.org, along with other employment information.

1.    We need the names and contacts of businesses that have been displaced by Katrina.  If you can supply us any contacts who might be seeking a temporary location and/or workforce while they reestablish operations, we would be most grateful.  Please contact Tyler Armstrong at the MetroJackson Chamber/MEDA at (601) 948-7575, ext. 230 or email tarmstrong@metrochamber.com with any available information.

2.     We are in desperate need of available housing within the metro area that can be leased or rented on a yearly basis.  Please forward this information to Tyler Armstrong at the number above or by email.

3.     We are updating a list of available temporary commercial or industrial properties in the metro area through our MEDA division.  If you know of availability, please forward to Tyler Armstrong at the number above or by email.
