Jackson Chamber of Commerce

 

Several years ago, the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership Board of Directors took a public position stating that Jackson must be healthy and vibrant to ensure sustainable positive growth.  To better address the issues and opportunities in Jackson, the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership Board of Directors created the Jackson Chamber of Commerce within the parent organization’s umbrella.  Established in November 2006, the Jackson Chamber of Commerce has its own board of directors to govern the effort. The mission of the Jackson Chamber is to improve quality of life in the city of Jackson, promote diversity, and promote a business climate favorable to economic and community development for the benefit of all its residents.


Grand Opening of the Law Firm of David Pharr

The  Jackson Chamber celebrated the grand opening of the Law Office of David Pharr March 7. The law office is located at 3023 North State Street in Jackson in the old Capri Theatre! Congrats David!

2011 Authenticity Update

The Jackson Chamber of Commerce Board Members visited several Jackson Fire Stations on November 9 to take a look at their new furniture.  The furniture was purchased with funds raised from Jackson Authenticity 2011, an event that honored the late Dr. Wallace Conerly, University of Mississippi Medical Center long time leader and business professional.

The Chamber presented $40,000 to the Jackson Fire Department to replace/update furniture for the twenty one Fire Stations throughout the city.

Firefighters help protect our community from many dangers by responding to a variety of emergencies and they spend a great deal of time at fire stations. For that reason, it was important to ensure that they have a comfortable, pleasant working environment. Through donations from this event, sofas were replaced and kitchen utensils were purchased so that firefighters can enjoy their home away from home.
